Our team began with detailed earthwork preparation, including clearing, excavation, grading, and compaction to create a stable, build-ready foundation for the site. Precise grading ensured proper drainage patterns and long-term structural integrity across the campus and parking areas. We also installed underground utilities designed to manage runoff and reduce the impact on local waterways.

Simone Companies proudly worked at Grosse Ile High School to transform its baseball facilities into a high-performance, future-ready athletic complex. The “Field of Dreams” project showcases our team’s expertise in land development, precision grading, and sports field preparation — all built on decades of experience and a commitment to excellence.

Our work began with a complete redevelopment of the site, starting from the ground up. The team engineered and installed a comprehensive drainage system designed to keep the fields durable, safe, and playable in all weather conditions. With drainage established, we moved into shaping the subgrade, ensuring a stable, consistent base that would support every layer to come.

Simone Companies imported and placed the necessary structural materials, including rock and sand, building up the foundation of the new diamonds with exacting accuracy. Every layer was meticulously compacted, measured, and refined to meet the performance standards required for modern athletic surfaces.

The final step — and one of the most critical — was delivering a high-precision finished grade. Our team sculpted the fields to achieve perfect surface performance, including forming elevated pitcher’s mounds engineered to regulation height and slope. This preparation ensured the site was fully ready for the installation of advanced AstroTurf® surfacing, setting the stage for exceptional playability and long-term durability.
